FY23-24 Dirt Road Reduction
body
DEPARTMENT:
Environmental Services
SUMMARY:
On April 4, 2022, City Council approved Asphalt Paving Systems, Inc. (APS) to convert approximately 1.5 miles of the City’s more heavily-used dirt roads to a stabilized chip-seal surface, included such streets as North Old County Road, Canal Road, Beulah Drive, and Lincoln Road.
The current FY24 budget allocates funds to further reduce the amount of dirt roads maintained by the City. APS has provided a quote to convert the following dirt roads to a chip-seal surface under the same terms and conditions of their competitively bid contract with Polk County, Florida:

West Palm Way and Otter Drive = 825 LF
Francis Drive (southern end) = 240 LF
Virginia Street (east of Riverside Drive) = 350 LF
TOTAL = 0.6 mile
