SUMMARY:
The City of Edgewater hosts the Princess Ball every February as a father-daughter dance to generate money for the City of Edgewater’s school scholarship award. The City of Edgewater received ten (10) applications this year, of which, eight (8) students qualified under the guidelines of the program. Last year, the Economic Development Board awarded each applicant $1,000 dollars. The Edgewater Scholarship fund has $9,000. The Princess Ball this year generated $6,566. City staff have suggested that additional seed money could be used to replenish the account, while still providing something to each qualified applicant.
