REQUESTED ACTION: (Change to current code)
1. Per Article V, Section 21-55.05 the applicant is asking for a historic tree removal permit of a 37", 40.5", and 42 " D.B.H. live oak for the property located at 300 Base Leg Drive.
2. Applicant is asking for the City Council to consider one of the following options Per Section 21-55.03(b) of the City of Edgewater Land Development Code (LDC), options for removal:
a. Determine the tree to be removed is in such a condition that it is hazardous to the surrounding area or structure(s) that no replacement is necessary
b. Replacement of trees at a ratio of one inch (1") to one-inch (1") diameter replacement tree
119.5" = 48 trees @ minimum 2.5" diameter and height of 12'.
c. Per Article XVII, Section 21-311.04 The person conducting the tree replacement activity shall, in lieu of actual tree replacement, pay a replacement contribution into the City Tree Replacement Trust Account equivalent to the replacement cost of the replacement trees. Per Resolution 2025-R-27, historic tree mitigation costs in lieu of tree replacement is $25.00 per square inch ($93,463.94).
