SUMMARY:
The City of Edgewater is proceeding with the 18th Street Canal Erosion and Sediment Control Project to address erosion and slope stability concerns along approximately 750 feet of the 18th Street Canal between U.S. 1 and South Riverside Drive, immediately north of East Indian River Boulevard.
Halff Associates, Inc. has previously performed survey and related engineering services for the 18th Street Canal and is familiar with the project area and existing conditions. Continuing with Halff will provide continuity as the project advances through engineering design, permitting, and preparation of construction documents.
Halff has submitted a proposal under the City's Continuing Professional Engineering Services Contract, RFQ 24-ES-11, in the amount of $94,034.00. The proposed scope includes data collection and field review, geotechnical and environmental services, engineering analysis and design, preparation of construction documents, environmental and regulatory permitting, final project deliverables, and project management.
As the proposed work authorization exceeds $50,000, City Council approval is required.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion to approve the proposal from Halff Associates, Inc. in the amount of $94,034.00 for professional engineering services for the 18th Street Canal Erosion and Sediment Control Project and authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents.
