Memorandum of Agreement Brownfields Assessment Coalition Between City of New Smyrna Beach, City of Edgewater and City of Oak Hill

SUMMARY:
The previous Brownfields Assessment Coalition (2013 - 2016) was very successful. The Southeast Volusia Corridor Improvement Coalition (SVCIC) completed approximately 25 Phase I Environmental Assessments; 10 Phase II Environmental Assessments, and a Health Improvement Assessment (HIA). With this proven success, the Coalition would like to continue their collaboration to support environmental assessment activities in connection with the grant award. Through the collaboration, with the members, New Smyrna Beach, will apply for and if received from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency a Brownfields Coalition Assessment grant award, a period of performance that would start October 1, 2020 and end September 30, 2023.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion to approve Memorandum of Agreement and to authorize the Mayor to execute the Memorandum of Agreement Brownfields Assessment Coalition to apply for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency a Brownfields Coalition Assessment grant award.
