Veteran's Park Fishing/Observation Pier replacement

SUMMARY:
Recently the City went through a formal solicitation process and selected a vendor for reconstruction of the pier/observation deck at Menard May Park. The same vendor provided a quote to replace the Fishing/Observation Pier at the Veteran’s park that was constructed in 1990. City staff is requesting waiver of formal solicitation process and using this vendor for the Veteran’s Park project. Due to the mobilization savings, City staff believe this option to be in the best interest of the City. We will need to do a budget amendment, and have identified the rotary Park project that we can transfer funds from in the amount of $350,000 in addition there was savings from the Menard May Project to help offset the cost. The remaining balance will be before council in the form of a budget amendment.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Motion to approve contract with WB Williamson Bros. Marine for the Veteran's Park Fishing/Observation Pier replacement in an amount not to exceed $405,398.06 and allow the City Manager to execute agreement.
