SUMMARY:

At the general election held on November 3, 2020, the citizens of Edgewater voted to amend the City Charter to increase the annual compensation for the mayor to $9,512.00 and the annual compensation for council members to $7,631.00.

 

With the increase in population and expansion of the city the Council wishes to increase the annual compensation of its members by ordinance, as authorized under Section 3.05 of the Charter.

 

At a workshop held on March 25, 2024 the Council came to a consensus to increase the annual salary of the mayor to $19,000 and council members to $14,000.  This ordinance, if adopted, shall take effect on December 2, 2024, which is the date of commencement of the terms of the City Council to be elected at the next general election.
