SUMMARY:
The City of Edgewater Parks & Recreation Department has identified the need for the new Edgewater Boat Ramps, Trailhead, & Amenities Project to expand and improve public waterfront recreational access for residents and visitors.
The City has applied for grant funding through the Volusia ECHO Grant Program, which provides financial assistance for environmental, cultural, historical, and outdoor recreational projects throughout Volusia County.
Phase 2 of the Project is estimated at approximately $5,000,000, with the city requesting $2,500,000 in grant funding through the ECHO Program. The City proposes to provide the required local match through eligible land match contributions and remaining unencumbered cash match funding, which will be brought back to City Council for approval as necessary.
Phase 1 activities, including project design and permitting, are currently underway. Phase 2 will consist of construction-related improvements associated with the public waterfront access facilities.
Adoption of Resolution No. 2026-R-19 will authorize the City Manager to execute all required grant-related documents and affirm the City’s commitment to meeting grant match requirements.
