SUMMARY:

As part of the City’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) requires certain documentation and information related to the City’s participation in the annual International Coastal Cleanup events, which are coordinated by Volusia County. The County retains certain information related to the amount and type of trash collected during the International Coastal Cleanup events, as well as a database of participants. Upon execution of the subject Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the County agrees to provide the City with the information and any associated records available upon written request. This will satisfy a regulated requirement in the City’s NPDES Permit relating to the Public Involvement/Participation Minimum Control Measure BMP of the Phase II MS4 Generic Permit.
