SUBJECT:
title
Lift Station 19 Rehabilitation
body
DEPARTMENT:
Environmental Services
SUMMARY:
The City of Edgewater maintains and services fifty-nine (59) sewer lift stations throughout the City. These stations are key infrastructure assets used to transmit wastewater from Edgewater's neighborhoods to the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 500 W Ocean Avenue.
As a routine infrastructure assessment process, the Environmental Services Department annually evaluates the condition of its lift stations. Lift Station #19, which serves the subdivision of Pyramid Park, has been identified as requiring rehabilitation due to the age and condition of the station's equipment. This station was constructed and installed in 1960 and is at the end of its useful life.
The rehabilitation of this station would allow for upgrading to current standards while updating the station's equipment to sustain its reliability for the community of Pyramid Park.
In November of 2023, Danus Utilities, Inc., a local contractor, provided a quote to carry out necessary rehabilitation services for Lift Station 19, in the amount $30,958.00 under the terms and conditions of their existing competitively bid contract with the City of Leesburg. In addition, the City has standardized on the use of lift station pumps and associated products as provided by Hydra Service, Inc, who has provided a quote of $96,752.00 for the purchase of components to be installed by Danus Utilities, Inc. Thus, the total cost of the rehabilitation will be $127,710.
