SUMMARY:

The City’s Alan R. Thomas Water Treatment Plant makes use of bulk lime for treating groundwater to drinking water quality. The lime sludge generated as a waste product must be trucked out to a disposal site.

 

The City of Edgewater has been piggybacking the bid from the Utilities Commission of New Smyrna Beach (UCNSB) for Lime Slurry Hauling and Disposal from KAG Specialty Products for several years. The renewal options on this contract have expired and UCNSB recently rebid the contract again selecting KAG Specialty Products, who has offered to extend to Edgewater the same terms and conditions.
