SUMMARY:
The City’s wastewater treatment plant has observed a significant increase in rainfall-related inflow in recent years. Staff has identified certain areas of the City’s wastewater collection system which seem more affected by heavy rainfall than others. The attached proposal in the amount of $95,241.00 is for lining of 15 manholes along and in the vicinity of Riverside Drive to reduce the amount of inflow into these older structures. The pricing is based on a competitively bid contract with the Sarasota County. Additional manholes are expected to require lining and repair beyond the scope of this proposal. This request is to authorize usage of the budgeted amount of $100,000.00 to conduct repairs to the sanitary sewer system according to the unit price cost-structure.
