SUMMARY: On August 3, 2020, City Council approved the purchase of refuse carts for customers in an amount not to exceed $421,300. Staff has given residents the option to choose the size cart and has calculated the amount of carts to purchase. The company that we are purchasing the carts from has offered to assemble and deliver the carts for a cost of $3.50 each. Staff believes it is in the best interest of the City to forego formal solicitation procedures for assembly and delivery and approve OTTO Environmental Systems to assemble and deliver the carts for the City. For clarification, the amount of purchase and delivery will not exceed the original requested amount of $421,300 as outlined below. Additional carts were ordered for new homes and exchanges of cart size.

Assembly and Delivery of 10,327 carts for $ 36,144.50
