FY23-24 Paved Road Resurfacing Strategies
body
DEPARTMENT:
Environmental Services
SUMMARY:
In 2017, Infrastructure Management Services (IMS) won a competitively bid contract with Volusia County to evaluate County-owned roads and propose an annual funding strategy. The City of Edgewater, along with many of the Cities within the County, separately hired IMS under the same terms and conditions to evaluate City-owned roads and propose an annual funding strategy. IMS recommended the City of Edgewater allocate annual funding of $1.2 million per year for road surface repair.
The Fiscal Year 2023-2024 budget includes $211,504 for Road Resurfacing. City staff has determined the most appropriate use of budgeted funds to be the milling & asphalt overlaying of Willow Oak Drive north of SR-442 to 12th Street, approximately 0.90 miles.
P&S Paving Inc. of Daytona Beach, has provided a quote in the amount of $199,839.72 to conduct this work under an extension of the same terms and conditions of their competitively bid contract with Seminole County, Florida.
