Public Notice and Household Income Verification Survey-Florida Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program
body
DEPARTMENT:
Environmental Services
SUMMARY:
The City is considering applying to FloridaCommerce for a minimum of $750,000 in grant funding through the Florida Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. If awarded, this grant could be used to provide various infrastructure activities throughout the City. In order to apply for the grant, the City must be able to provide documentation showing that at least 51% of the residents who will benefit from the proposed infrastructure improvements are within the income guidelines set by the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). According to the City’s latest census, the average household income is within these guidelines; however, the supporting household income verification documentation must be included in the City’s grant application.
The City is working with our grant consultants at the office of Cornerstone Community Partners to gather the necessary documentation to apply for the grant. Over the next several weeks, Cornerstone Community Partners will be mailing surveys, placing phone calls and/or going to residences to complete voluntary Household Income Verification Surveys. These surveys will be used to document the number of residents and the income eligibility for each household.
