Interlocal Agreement with the City of New Smyrna Beach for Lending of Equipment

SUMMARY:
The City of Edgewater and the City of New Smyrna Beach have supplied equipment or machinery as a good faith measure and mutual aid for our neighboring communities. At times there are specialized activities that require specialized equipment that one or the other may not have and only need during these certain activities. This agreement will authorize the Maintenance Operations Director for the City of New Smyrna Beach and the Director of Environmental Services for the City of Edgewater to coordinate these requested activities. Nothing in the agreement shall obligate one party to agree to the requests made by the other party. These activities would be provided as a mutual aid and no monetary payments will be required unless there is a major project requested. A separate compensation agreement would then be executed based on actual labor costs and equipment costs/expenses as outlined in the latest FEMA equipment rate sheet.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
A motion to approve the Interlocal Agreement with the City of New Smyrna Beach for Lending of Equipment and authorize the Mayor to execute the document.
