SUMMARY:
City Council previously approved the rental of a vacuum (vac) truck from Great Southern Equipment to support operations while the City’s existing unit was undergoing extensive repairs. During the rental period, the vac truck was actively utilized to support ongoing wastewater and stormwater maintenance.
Since that time, the City has successfully procured and placed into service a new vacuum truck, restoring full operational capability. The rental unit has now been returned to the vendor.
This agenda item is being presented for after-the-fact approval to cover the continued rental use from the expiration of the initial approval period through the final return date of the rental vac truck. This ensured uninterrupted stormwater services and operational continuity for the Public Works & Utilities Department.
