SUMMARY:
Staff has researched the most effective and cost efficient means to upgrade the back-up generator for the City Hall complex and found that utilizing the Sourcewell Contract best meets the needs of the City.
The City’s Purchasing Policy grants the authority to join with other units of government in cooperative purchasing ventures when the best interests of the City would be served and the same is in accordance with City Ordinances. It further names Sourcewell (formerly National Joint Powers Alliance - NJPA) as an approved cooperative venture.
To complete this project there will be additional expenditures that include upgrade of the A/C unit for the Police Department from 3-phase power to single phase for capability with the generator and patching the asphalt across the parking lot after the extension of the gas line. The patching work will be done in house and quotes are being requested for the A/C upgrade.
The cost of the back-up generator under the Sourcewell Contract (CAT Contract # 120617-CAT) is $181,365.00.
