Park Avenue Booster Pump Station Rehab - Grant Management and Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) Services
body
DEPARTMENT:
Environmental Services
SUMMARY:
The 50-year-old water pump station located on West Park Avenue is in need of rehabilitation and replacement. The City’s continuing engineering consultant Mead & Hunt, Inc. have completed the engineering design and permitting of a new pump station with upgraded capabilities on the same site. The new pump station will include facilities for disinfectant addition and continue to provide an additional source of pressure for maximum daily and peak hour flows and fire flow events.
With significant help from Mead & Hunt, Inc, the City made application for $3,960,000 in grant funding for the construction of the Park Avenue Booster Pump Station Rehab project under the FDEP Supplemental Appropriation for Hurricanes Fiona and Ian (SAHFI) program. The grant application was successfully received and included in the FDEP’s Intended Use Plan (IUP) on February 14, 2024. Upon award, the grant will be administered as a SRF loan with 100% principal forgiveness. This will require adherence to various federal funding requirements during construction, including American Iron and Steel (AIS) and Davis-Bacon wage rate compliance.
At the City’ request, Mead & Hunt has provided the attached proposal for Grant Management services and construction, engineering, and inspection (CEI) services during construction for the Park Avenue Booster Station Rehab project in the amount $369,285.
