SUBJECT:

title

AR-2025-0456: Issuance of a Quit Claim Deed for the vacated portion of Indian River Boulevard.

body

DEPARTMENT:

Development Services

SUMMARY:

In 2020 and 2021, the alignment of Williamson Boulevard was changed to include a

slight curve and extend westward. As a result, the alignment of Indian River Boulevard was

changed to curve north to connect to the new Williamson Boulevard alignment. This new

alignment was incorporated into the Deering Park North MUPUD which was approved by the

Edgewater City Council. As a result, the previous Indian River Boulevard alignment that had been transferred to the City was no longer correct. In 2023, the City corrected the previous right of way, abandoning, vacating and renouncing any rights in and to that portion of West Indian River Boulevard. The title company has requested that the City of Edgewater issue a quit claim deed for this vacated area. The quit claim deed will be subject to the easement held by the City for access to the existing and future well sites and for the use of all associated infrastructure therein, that allows the City the ability to access, operate, service and maintain the potable water well site and all associated infrastructure.
