SUMMARY:
Included within the current Fiscal Year budget is purchase of a refuse truck at a price not to exceed $400,000. The Environmental Services Department has identified two old, smaller refuse trucks this one unit would replace. With this purchase, the Department will maintain a fleet of seven (7) compactor units to meet the Department’s level of service.
After conducting a competitive bidding process, the Town of Dundee, Florida chose RDK Truck Sales in Tampa, Florida, to purchase a rear-load garbage truck. Subsequently, the Fleet Maintenance Division of the City of Edgewater has obtained a quote from the same vendor for the purchase of a truck matching the bid specifications, priced at $313,672.00, which is within the budgeted amount.
