SUMMARY:
Edgewater Fire Rescue Department is requesting to purchase portable radio that is EDACS and P25 capable.
Volusia County is currently in the process of upgrading its county-wide radio system from an EDACS system to a P25 system. As part of this transition, it's imperative that all newly purchased radios possess the capability to operate on both EDACS and P25 protocols. This ensures seamless functionality both before and after the activation of the new P25 radio system.
The radios being requested support both EDACS and P25 radio systems and are the standard equipment utilized by all public safety agencies across Volusia County.
