SUMMARY:

The City of Edgewater pursued the DEM RCMP competitive grant to acquire grant funds in the amount of $194,000.00.  These dollars will be used to implement the Hurricane Loss Mitigation Program activities for the benefit of Edgewater residents.  The mitigation retrofit improvement project will provide homeowners with an opportunity to reduce the risk and vulnerability of their homes due to wind related damage; further encouraging and building the Edgewater community to become more sustainable and resilient, which is in alignment with the DEM mission.  The City was awarded the $194,000.00 and the state funded grant will reimburse the City 100% of all approved budgeted cost incurred.
